Designing a Tape Cutter

As part of my Mechanism Design course, I was tasked with coming up with a solution for cutting tape moving on a conveyor belt under set constraints.
The design for this tape cutter had to allow for tape to move through it at a consistent rate and have minimal contact with the tape itself as it cuts. To accomplish this, I designed a pair of four-bar mechanisms and placed the bottom blade on link 4 and the top blade on link 3. Pictures 3 and 4 detail the paths that the top and bottom blades follow respectively. To accomplish this, I utilized SolidWorks to design the parts to the specifications.
